Chris is an experienced local government and resource management lawyer. He joined the firm in 2015, and has 15+ years’ experience in these areas.
In addition to jointly leading our Local Government practice, Chris has acted for developers, iwi and rural interests throughout the South Island. His practice includes advising local and regional authorities on RMA plan creation and implementation, and resource consent processes. He also advises on local government and public works legislation; including the Local Government Act 2002, and the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.
Chris has significant hearing and mediation experience, for both private clients and local government, and is an experienced and able advocate. He has a particular interest in the legal issues surrounding water use and coastal environments.
